Animation Exercises
Lithograph
by Pontus Carle
Lithograph broken down into layers on Photoshop and brought into After Effects (AE). Use of tracking, layering, color, and other effects to create an animation.
Sound design and musical underlay also done by Andrea Dorlhiac.
Paintings in Motion
2.5D cameras and layers using first Photoshop and then After Effects (AE). Tracking and working with still footage that was broken down in Photoshop. AE’s built-in tracking to composite a graphic animation.
Paintings used: "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" by Hokusai, "Irises" by Vincent Van Gogh, and "Tan Tan Bo" by Takashi Murakami.
Space Animation
Shape and vector animation: using mattes, textures, and environments. Utilized After Effects to create realistic shading, shadows, and parallax.
Roto sequencing
A demonstration of rotoscoping and tracking, with keying, masking, and other effects.
